D-mbest post I’ve seen in some time. COP has their hands way too full absorbing Concho and Marathon to acquire Oxy.

Walt Disney I would believe as much as I would a Conoco acquisition. Conoco has their plate full laying off employees and trying to save a buck.

Merger: Two companies combine—typically as (near) equals—into a single entity; owners of both end up sharing the new company.

Acquisition: One company buys control of another; the buyer remains in charge and the target becomes a subsidiary or is absorbed.
