they’re closing a freestanding ER & Urgent Care in Greeley on that same date. banner has over 3,000 staff in northern colorado and over 60K nationwide, so big news...
the affected will get transition help, like priority for other open roles in the system, career counseling, and support services.
at the same time banner is rolling out what they call a multi-year investment plan to reshape their footprint in the region. that includes buying up a primary care network and turning the mckee medical center in loveland into a specialty hospital.
CEO for colorado hospitals said the changes are because of "community demand" whatever that means for him. ER volumes at mckee have dropped 4 years in a row, they’re only using 25% of the beds, and 90% percent of surgeries there are already outpatient.
