Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Layoffs

Major layoffs coming in the car and mechanical departments. Most car jobs will be eliminated, and TCI jobs will be put in their place. Major yards like north Platte and Kansas will still facilitate car repair with union workers, but smaller outlying yards will have contractors do the work, and this is including locomotive service and inspection.

These cuts will bolster stock prices for the Norfolk southern merger

I hope if the merger happens!
The stock crashes so bad! That DJT has to bail out his buddy! And everything goes to cr-p like what happen when the CNW and SP mergers . Just bring a big ice chest and sleeping bag and reading materials. Sitting at red signals for 8 hours is coming!

I think the sources you're looking for would be the stock market and various stock market news articles. If you look under the ticker of UNP, then you'll see that the stock price has been dropping. He11 you could just look for the UP in general and find a wealth of info relating to the company. There's also a recent earnings call transcript that has Vena snapping or cutting the caller off rudely. You decide on that one but the transcript text has a bit of a tone to it from Vena. Seriously though, just look for the UP online and you might be shocked about you'll find. It's really not that hard to find.

I don’t care! I wish nothing but the worst for the people making life changing decisions to the employees

Can you source your info. How can anybody make such a bold statement without sourcing it. Especially when this platform has such a reputation for fear mongering anyhow.

I really wouldn't say that the merger won't happen. There's a strong chance that it will happen. Vena desperately needs this to happen right now for his sake. The stock price has been going down for several days while the market has been going up. There's now articles in circulation calling the company a risky investment, and I'd have to agree. Vena has never made good operational decisions at any company and his last visit at the UP just proves that. All of the BS going on at the UP is Venas ego going batsh!t crazy. Vena is a loser. He's going to cut everywhere he can to save as much as he can. Then when it comes time for the merger, the UP will have less cost and available employees from the NS to backfill at locations where they're needed. Sadly I see a large amount of NS employees getting let go as well. I did see an article about Vena saying that he would keep the union jobs on, and knew right away that he was lying! He's trying to get rid of most union jobs, so why he'd lie about that is beyond me. So the moral of the story here folks is to be prepared. Vena knows one thing and one thing only. LYING! He lied and lied during his first visit, then cut jobs and closed locations everywhere. When the sh!t hit the fan because of insufficient staffing levels and service issues, he unsurprisingly disappeared from the company and went to the board of directors at FedEx, while he left his buddy Fritz behind to take the heat for his bad decisions. Vena is going to do everything he can to make the merger happen. The company is losing all lot value right now, employees are becoming more irritated, stock price is dropping, investors are starting to get spooked, and then you have Vena who just making every problem worse. A good CEO would never do this to it's own employees just because they can. A self-centered and greedy one that only cares about himself would. Vena is feeling the pressure from Wall Street about the stock price and company valuation. Fritz was let go for way less and now the company has less value now than it did when Fritz was still there. It's just a matter of time now before Vena gets the boot in the a$$ and something tells me that time is approaching fast.

The merger will never happen unless bnsf does something with csx. UP is going to fall apart if they get bigger. The ruin every company they merge with. They are contracting jobs in Kansas and Oregon. Shutting down 2 shops this year. Wouldn’t surprise me if they did Layoff
