Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Sept date?

Does anyone have a date for a September RIF? Is it this Thursday or next? Does anyone have specifics for WellMed?

I pray to be laid off every week, not for lack of trying to find another job, i have so many applications out, im so iver being micromanaged, declined my earned PTO when the time is open, my manager just blatantly ignoring my emails and giving me less then great treatment then everyone else for no good reason, im quite, I do my work, I never call out, but im over this. The work force is horrible though, so being laid off wouldnt be so bad.

@m0 I’ve been here for 3 years and it is cliquish. I’m in claims, and haves asked for PTO during holidays. Everyone was submitting days and because supe didn’t know how many she was allowed to approve she slept on the requests which made it hard to request other time off since you have to have the hours accrued before requesting . Anyway, she was overwhelmed with holiday teas and mine was denied despite the request was sent in before others. She approved someone who she worked in the office with and their req was sent a week after mine. She must’ve forgot we can see when the requests were put in. I’m still bitter about this and this happened 2 years ago. I don’t even bother w the holiday requests because the favorites will get them. They wonder why they score so low on the employee survey.

@m0 More like 15-20 years. I’m hoping with new ldrship changes that they get rid of the old WellMed lifers sitting around collecting a paycheck stuck in the “we’ve always done it this way” mindset.

I foolishly left a job in UHC for WellMed 9 months ago. WellMed seems cliquish, and I don't feel welcomed at all. Almost everyone in the group has been with WellMed for 10 years or more. Since I joined there's also been almost no work to do. Major career misstep on my part. I'm sure I'll be the first one out since I'm not in WellMed lifer group.

@hf we haven’t had any dept meeting huddles in awhile , we were having them weekly when we were swamped with work , now when we don’t have sh-t to do , they don’t schedule anything. Make it make sense

@hd they ain’t said sh-t, acting like nothing is happening. I’m just waiting for the day we get a surprise meeting telling us we done.

@hb probably until they get an understanding of how to process those sh-t claims. It’s hard meeting production with the lack of claims. What has your supe said about the situation? My supe has been very quiet.

@fm Wellmed claims . The only claims left to process are cr-p claims that offshore aren’t capable of processing.

What should I look for in teams organizational charts? Are layoffs happening today Sept 11? Or Sept 18? I’m tired of worrying abt it so I just want it to happen asap.

@cm people keep saying this. But how is optum going to absorb the role when they don’t know how to use IKA? Are wellmed trainers going to train them??…. Something isn’t adding up

Optim absorbing wellmed and it’s membership, is only a matter of time. All
The roles are duplicative once it’s all under optim umbrella so expecting lots of layoffs.

@af any and all impacted. Next week and it will occur again. Set for November. All at risk. Volume for all down with PPO contracts termed.

Optum and WellMed both. Lists set for notices next week. It won’t be pretty

@a1 some of those leaders are on a temp life line, I know two. Wellmed is radically going to change.. the ones doing completely different roles may be saved for at least a year!

Can someone confirm if these RIFs will only include management or will it also include claims/customer service/etc?

Being kept here during a massive RIF is like winning a hotdog eating contest and being given a pack of Oscar Mayers left in the trunk for a week.

No reason to be jealous. In my experience they are jettisoned soon after.

I can’t out myself but go and check org charts in teams and you will see clearly who is a favorite

I know at least 3 wellmed leaders that were hand picked to keep their jobs and shifted into other roles because they are part of the cool kids club. Optum leaders that tell you they are not aware of rifs are lying through their veneers! Try to get out while you can and that is what I am doing as we speak, apply, apply, apply because you are nothing more than a metric to these people that support clinical areas without any clinical licensing, should not be allowed!
