This is the opening salvo. If we’re spared and it all hits Ansys’ side, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we hear about more cuts on our side soon after. No acquisition of this magnitude happens without major workforce realignments, and this will be no different. I’ve already started applying, just in case.

Foundation services (HR, Finance etc) will likely be Ansys heavy but Sassine said himself it's been planned for months and as mentioned it's not realistic to cut Ansys 40%. I have a hunch Ansys senior executives had lined up cuts pre-acquisition.
If the majority fall on the Ansys side it'll end up being 40-50% of Ansys' entire workforce.
I imagine it'll be weighted towards Ansys employees but it would be naive to assume it'll be solely them.
Applying to jobs like OP is doing is probably a safe bet.
