Will we be fired for not going in enough? I know they are tracking badge scans. 31s and above are mandatory back to office including telecommuters. I am sure it is only a matter of time where everyone else goes back at this point.

@32b and how many miles are you from the office?
@32b when did you find out? Are you in Minneapolis or DC?
I’m a level 28 and was just told I have to return to office at Optum in October. I’m a full time telecommuter
@ba Huh? boss will definitely know
Well I do know that they've had the badge scan report since at least 2019. I know because I got in trouble for it -- in 2019! Worked at the Eden Prairie office that they sold a year or so ago. They remodeled it, made it open concept and then everyone from my Optum area had to meet X times a month in office and I got put on it list because I wasn't coming in.
I was not a telecommuter, but I had to be a caregiver for my mom who was battling cancer at the time. I had to move in with her temporarily, which was up near Duluth. Commuting to EP was not in the cards for me and I was upfront with my manager (who was in NJ...). He was not happy but I told him it was over 2 hours away and I was doing it anyway.
Nothing ever came of it because, well, March 2020 happened.
@a1 fake news
@a1
I'd need to see that statement in practice. I know for a fact they track badge scans, a person on my extracts the report. I will say it's way to beat though. Since it's only swipe in's, swipe in... Leave
No badging -> Become a tribute -> one less employee + no severance to fund
Telecommute-> on the 2026 tribute list -> bottomless list to rid bottom teams/leaders due to no state WARNO requirements
@c4 warning
@bh but what do they say or do about it? Give you a warning?
tracking badges in mn. i was called out.
If your team and especially manager are there, you are gonna stick out in a bad way unfortunately unless you make an agreement with your boss.
If your boss is in Florida and everyone else in NYC, but you are within distance to the MN campus, your boss will probably never know if you are there or not.
They are not allowed to use the badge scans against you.
Someone went all legal against the company a few years back and won.
