Really feeling down about not getting any offers for months now since Dell laid me off, severance and unemployment running low. I’d love to hear some success stories from anyone laid off this year that got new roles they’re happy with.

Getting laid off from a place as toxic as Dell might have been the best thing to happen to me. It took a few months, but I found a new job with a great company, I've never been happier.
Got the fantastic message in feb 2023, got great severance, took 2,5 yrs to find a new new great job though, not that I hurried. Happier than ever!
Took me 3 months. I have an electrical engineering degree. I got my EIT certificate and entered the power industry. It's too dangerous to have a career at Dell long term.
Don't be afraid to hit up employment opportunities in the military. Maybe you'll be a cybersecurity professional very soon.
I was able to land my role in about 6 weeks. What worked: getting in a job-seeker's support and networking group. I connected with a headhunter there and started working with her. Linkedin, Indeed, connecting with old colleagues - none of that really went anywhere. Nothing in the tech industry panned out. I would stay far away from there and look at mid-market or trades type companies.
I found a way to be my own boss. Happy to chat about it. https://example.com/sfisldfm
Check out contract or consultant opportunities.
I know of two people who got jobs within 3 weeks of being let go. They were let go at the beginning of August 2025. They are both in Sales.
nothing to report here. Nobody wants a 60 year old white male. Modern day leper.
