Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Better opportunities

Hi All-

I’m sorry you are going through this. I worked for Walgreens for a long time and then was laid off when my family was going through unimaginable loss and grief. I promise you there are better opportunities and companies out there. Please take care of yourselves and your families.

TRUTH!!! Wag became so incredibly toxic… I know of no one who left who has left- by choice or force- and not found themselves better off in many ways!!! Financially, emotionally, etc. Always good to see others experiencing same!!

Love this and completely agree! Being laid off after a very long and successful career at Walgreens was shocking and disappointing... but also, the best thing for me at the same time, I just didn't realize it yet. There are amazing companies out there that have a rich culture, better benefits, and opportunities galore. That severance you might be holding out for is a cr-p shoot at this point. Start looking, leverage your network, and put yourself first.

A great leader told me once, "Don't have a one-way love affair with the company you work for." It still hits home years later.

Best of luck!
