Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Layoffs

At ConocoPhillips. 20-25% of their staff. This is happening to a real oil and gas company, not like you…. The ride is coming to an end. Don’t forget to take your belongings.

Why does Oxy have so many employees. Currently they have about the same employee count as ConocoPhillips yet their production is about 70% of ConocoPhillips. Maybe Oxy has more wells or they just don’t do layoffs and so they accumulate employees like junk in a garage. The stockholders should be outraged over the low efficiency and low stockholder return. VH may soon have some tough choices to make.

@OP, what did Oxy do to you to make you so angry that you want some of Oxy’s employees to be layoff? Oxy is a very stable company and well run by an amazing CEO and her management team. Oxy is busy becoming more efficient and innovative and making money. They prioritize their employees more than the so called real oil and gas companies that are reactive with any little change in oil price. Oxy has a long term plan, great talented employees which makes it a great company to work for. Please don’t wish anyone to lose their job no matter how bitter you are with them.

OP. You are really a piece of work wishing the worst on your fellow human beings. I guess the fact Oxy is not slashing employees like the rest just proves how well we are run, and how much something good like that bothers you. We have a CEO that actually cares unlike the big boys that treat their employees so bad. Funny how many of them like to bash Oxy, but here we are working for a stable company while the so called big boys are firing their workers. I bet many of those workers would love a job at Oxy.

@OP “The ride is coming to an end. Don’t forget to take your belongings.” That reminds me of the day that you were shown the door. In fact, I think they used those exact words as they handed you a cardboard box. Canned by a company that’s not even real. How surreal.
