Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Thanks 3M for well thought out back to office

There are no places to sit. There was no thought put into this. Very disappointing

@w5 COC is simply the politboro that BB handpicked to give him air cover in case people want to blame him for the fiasco.

Does BB have a floor mat with the face and saying from McKnight - hire good people and leave them alone.

He seems to be stomping on the very affirmative foundation that made this company so great.

No wonder why his last company's employees rated him in the Bottom 10 of CEOs. He was forced out when his voodoo magic stopped working to goose the stock price. Problem is 3M board is a compliant goop of well-paid but groupthink clowns.

@w5

I think we are from the same country, the embarrassing email from mathias asking us to come in to show Andrew that we deserve this d-mb office,

HR sounding spineless as usual. I know many are quitting

Bennett was in our country on Thursday at the Townhall. When he was asked about exceptions to 4 days a week in the office he said that the COC had to approve them ! Great use of their time or just a way to get no-one to make a request !

@gm There is absolutely no value to you.

There really isn’t value to the company either, but unfortunately they are shortsighted enough to believe that the value for them will be if you quit out of frustration.

I spent an hour looking for desks with working monitors and collaborated only on my non-stop global teams calls in a random cube since nobody in my organization 3+ layers up is local. This is ridiculous. Where is the value?

Sorry, management had a meeting about your docking station and monitors and decided if you got approved then everyone would be wanting these expenses. You’ll have to get by until 1st quarter at the earliest.

I asked my manager to order a docking station and monitors so I could have something at my assigned, empty cube. There was nothing when I got in. Super excited to work on my laptop today!

It was confirmation 3M died. There was no culture, comfort or sense of identity.

I wonder if BB is going to get out of his palatial office and visit the serfs working in un-ergonomic office settings with sluggish internet. Maybe Murph the Smurf will walk around and get the lowdown on slow internet and hire some more high priced consultants to figure it out (and make it worse)

I am so glad I came in so that I can do all meetings from my desk on the phone since most people I work with are not in MN.

All these new outside hire management are true leaders of men. So much more common sense than those old timer boomers.

Oh there was a lot of thought put into this. "How absolutely sh---y can we make this in order to drive maximum voluntary attrition?"

Zero chance this caught anyone in power by surprise. Same happened at AT&T and Ford. Probably others, as these execs just imitate what others do. No ingenuity, no advanced thinking.
