Thread regarding Cummins Inc. layoffs

Benefits

I had a quick question for those of you who’ve experienced a promotion at Cummins. When moving to the next level, what kind of salary hike did you typically see? Was it a standard percentage increase, or did it vary a lot depending on the role/location?

Also, are there any additional perks or benefits that come with a promotion (things like stock options, allowances, bonuses, or other support) that aren’t always clearly communicated but are good to know about?

Normal salary grades there was the standard ~7.5% bump as mentioned. Most of your bigger bumps are when you hit the compensation class bumps (going from cc01-cc02 etc.). Going CC02-CC03 you'll get a variable comp bump from 8 to 12% of your base pay.

If you get a promotion as you take a new job in a different BU but still within Cummins, be aware that works as if you were an external hire renegotiating a salary. That can be an opportunity for a much larger bump.

Depending on the level you are moving to. Variable comp goes up (find exact amount in Answers), 7% standard in most regions, if you are high in comp already it may be lower, if your new peer group is higher you may get more. When you get to the big boy salary you have additional benefits like stock purchase options.
