Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

How is it done?

Somebody mentioned it's a pre-recorded video but another person said it was a 1:1 with their manager. Which is it?

@ac not true. My wife (20+ year executive in Portland) was laid off via a scripted MS Teams video. It appeared to be live and was broadcast to an unknown number (about 100 according to the news) but the two that did the firing were clearly reading from a script and never looked into their cameras nor did they address any particular employee. Those affected were told their last day would officially be September 26th, they were not allowed at the office, a third party company was hired to box up any personal belongings and those belongings would be mailed to the employees, pay and benefits would be in effect until September 26th and employees may be eligible for severance, pending a 1-on-1 meeting with HR at a future time.

@OP I think if you are safe it’s a recorded call. Laid off was a one on one sometimes including HR
