Just checked email. No 1:1 with GP yet. Yes, I shouldn’t check today but they didn’t say a “start time”. What if they start at 7:30am CST?! And I miss the 1:1. They should have done better on when invites would be sent out. Basic communication folks.

@af Seriously, power point us in every inch of information and expect us to be experts of it all. Even FA’s don’t know what they’re doing and just go to work to make boa’s cry.
I will wait for my fate in the tranquil secret garden upstairs with PP.
@bw this sounds about right. So disappointing if our Director and/ Department Leader were pushing for layoffs. I don’t think they were but who knows. TLs were not involved.
GPs and select Directors (the more tenured ones) were involved in the decision making.
So, don’t fall for their “decisions came from the top” line. If you get laid off or demoted, always remember GPs and select Directors decided your fate. They will be singing a different tune in front of you.
@bm Bo, this is wrong. Every GP…and most senior directors know exactly what’s happening to their people. 100%
GPs know. Do you honestly believe the lists came from ELT and HR?
@ba perhaps the GP knows who they recommended. But an official “approved” by ELT or other higher ups might be needed. Once they get that then it would be confirmed. My guess.
@b2 so you are saying our GP doesn’t know who is going to be ISP’d, demoted, etc. until tomorrow morning? I find that hard to be believe and if true it makes zero sense to keep GPs out of the loop until the day of.
I packed a box and left it on my desk when I left on Friday. Not that my partner would see it as he’s been on a two month long vacation. Must be nice!
@b5 interesting… but I’ve been off ☺️
@b4 It was communicated to your leader .
@b2 I did not see a firm wide announcement of this … not by email or on Amplify.
Yea we were told and others in different areas that I talked to that the GP is supposed to have a 1:1 with you regardless of ISP. I find the whole not telling the leaders who they have hilarious and for associates to keep it a secret since leaders won’t know. This whole process just proves BCG took the firms money and is laughing at them from afar.
Your GP finds out to tomorrow so there will be no 7:30 1:1 meeting. This communication was shared with all of us this week. Sounds like you missed the firm wide communication. .
We’ve been told our GP is making an effort to meet 1:1 with everyone, regardless of the outcome. If they can’t get to everyone, then an email will be received EOD Tuesday.
@av I don’t know the fate of my team and I won’t until after they do. I realize the firm wants to mitigate risk, but it su-ks that leaders have to take a backseat while their associates learn about their future.
@ap Best of luck! Honestly. And if you know about your team already, I truly empathize for you and the other leaders dealing with stressing for yourself and your team. Thank you for sharing the info.

@ap What is HC?
If it's anything like WFC, you get an invite last minute or the morning of. Not even very late the day before. Sometimes, your manager might not even know until last minute
I’m a TL in HC (wish me luck!). We’ve been told that IF our fate requires a 1:1 (new role, promotion :), demotion, ISP), we will receive a Teams message on Monday/Tuesday with a Zoom link asking us to join in 15 min. I’m also told that emails for those not enduring a change won’t be sent out until Tuesday night. So, enjoy waiting around for two days to receive that.
@OP the last time I had a 1:1 with a GO they were offering me LP
@a1, not certain what division you work in. I know a lot of GP/DL/TL who start early.
- To make sure no associates are out sick
- If an associate is out sick, leaders need to fix coverage for folks who call out for the day.
- To make sure they have their ducks in a row for meetings etc.
So with all due respect; they're higher ups who start their day early.
@a8 I'd guess leaders are prioritized to hear their news first, and associates that actually get a 1:1 will be after that. If you dont receive a message for a 1:1 by 3 or 4pm Tuesday, while you might be moving somewhere in the new structure with similar responsibilities, youre likely not laid off or demoted (this round).
@a6 as I understand it, an email means you're good; no role change and your position remains. A meeting invite means either your role or leader/department has changed or you've been displaced. Hope for an email. :)
Stop letting this place rule your life. Log in at your normal time and do your normal routine.
It’s out of your hands. Even if you survive this cascade, expect it to be an ongoing thing from now on even if it’s not at a massive company wide level.
Right like....can I not take a quick lunch while I wait for my fate?? Its insane
@a7 I was saying most likely they (DL or TL) will only be the ones to receive a 1:1, but that’s just my thoughts on the matter.
@a6 DL and TL won't receive a 1:1?
@OP I feel unless we are a DL or TL, we will only receive an email to notify us of our fate. For me that is all I want as I would probably say too much about how I “truly” think and feel about the company I’ve worked so many years for.
I am sure most of us have already brought personal items strewŋ about the desk home by now. I for one do not want to have security watch me box up my things as tears fall. Some things are scrutinised as company or personal in nature.
I started bringing pictures and awards home earlier in the month so I can just leave if I am tapped to be let go. Makes the process so much easier and they won't see my tears. Maybe a couple
No more!
@a3 Sad that has to be a thing, but you’re so right.
"Problem possible" folks get scheduled later in the day when less people are around. Trust me
I plan on not checking or paying close attention. If I get a 1:1, they can wait.
@OP Honestly what GP starts at 7:30 am CT … Dept. leaders rarely start that early either.
