175,000 Jobs cuts in 2023

Looks like next year is going to be bad with 175,000 Jobs cuts per MONTH! in 2023.. This is why Macys seems to be only hiring PT in stores.. My guess is FT and high priced long term Managers will be seen the door..

I think the post was about the economy in general not just Macys. It’s always tough Jan and February then…. March and April they start hiring again. There are however, no trends anymore. I wish Macys well and everyone who carried the big red star for decades…. But times are changing and people are disposable.

There's always changes after inventory but this time inventory is going to be the beginning of the month of January. This company already have a plan how many cuts are happening in January. Probably this time it's going to be a massive cuts because a recession is just around the corner. Don't be surprise if this happen.

Full time and long term are the only people who show up to work.

Yeah, that’s impossible. Right at around or before the shutdown in 2019 they laid off 2,000 employees and those were considered massive cuts. I know there will be cuts, but I feel perhaps that additional positions will also be created for areas of focus and growth like Omni. Maybe some restructuring and store closures. Just not sure how many.

If that was the number we are all gone, everyone and all stores are closed in a 3 months.

Stop trying to cause trouble! This was stated by an analyst on CBS News....purely speculation! The latest employment data still reflects high consumer spending and jobs data is strong.
