They don't care that these impacted employees can lose a lot more, they can lose their homes, some will no longer be able to pay for their children's college, etc.
Someone will say that it is just business. However, hiring people who will work hard during the pandemic to bring profit to the company, and then cutting such a large number of them even though Amazon continues to make a profit is disgusting and cruel.

I agree with the sentiment but not your logic.
I have some sympathy, but if you had paid any attention to how the warehouse (blue collar) workers were treated then you might not be surprised. Did you somehow think Bezos had more respect for you?
