Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Respect, integrity, decency

It is sad that people at this company are so horrible to each other, at every level in every corner of the corporation. What’s posted on this board isn’t even the worst of it.

@kk - sounds like you’re a candidate for management. Tone deaf, simplistic thinking and light on context, as long as it works out in your benefit. For the benefit of those like you shoving your way to the front who were born both greedy and socially re--rded, the issue here isn’t the what. It’s the how. Mo--n…

No exxon is a circus with lots of clowns running the place. We're not even a three ring circus more like a one ring.

@b0 Labor in India is cheap, there’s a large class of educated professionals who speak English, and your job (which isn’t all that hard) can be done there for maybe 1/3 of the cost at most.

Tell me you wouldn’t be doing the same thing if you owned a business.

How do you think I feel? I was stabbed in the back by my co employees last ranking cycle. I had the opportunity to sc--w them over but I did not. The supervisor rewarded the snitches and spies handsomely. The agents were all given a nice raise and promotions. I on the other hand was given a nsi ranking. All of the negative feedback could only have come from these snakes. Now I stay quiet but am still the target of their evil gossip. I was accused of going home early because one of my watchers reported I was not at campus all day. My stupidvisor asked where I was and I told them I was in training. I told the d-mb a ss to look at my email and calendar.

Respect, integrity and decency. They’re like leaders. We don’t have any of those here.

All my recent senior managers and vps have been females lately. For what it's worth.

@b0 The senior managers and executives are almost all affluent middle-aged white men. Right-leaning too, FWIW.

@OP This is standard behavior for Houston-area oil companies. They’re all good ol’ boys clubs.

The reason why these people are on here posting bigoted tirades is because the O&G gravy train is rolling into its last stop, and instead of blaming the people who make the decisions, they’re lashing out at pretty much everyone else.

Indians are super racist. Ever heard of the caste system?

Racism among our senior management is what brought us this Indian problem. Don’t you know, all Indians have superior intellect and education? All Americas are fat, lazy, and entitled. What would you expect from our aristocratic overlords who made the decision to end our careers and hand the company to Indians?

Respect, integrity, and decency will not get you promoted in ExxonMobil.

"YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH" [1] has been adopted by the We Are ExxonMobil culture task force as our 21st Century team building slogan.

(1) The famous line is spoken by Col. Nathan R. Jessup, played by Jack Nicholson, in A Few Good Men.

Unfortunate what has become of Rockefeller’s legacy. An oinking, grunting pack of greedy little managers looting the till while destroying the business.

As a supervisor who tries to care, it is so hard now because employees just don’t trust anything at all at this point.

Its heart breaking, no excuse, just heart breaking to come to work and be mentally abused every single day.

Truth. Top down culture infusion. WAEM behaviors fiction aside, I don’t know a single executive I’d call a good person. They all have willingly participated in the upside of lying and off shoring for max personal financial gain. The do anything for money ethos trickles down to every person below. Sad!
