It’s getting impossible to feel secure here with all the layoffs happening constantly. Even joking about job security feels wrong because no one actually believes it. Morale is at an all-time low and it amazes me that more people haven’t already left. Everyone seems completely burned out and done with it.

@OP excuse the pun but Optum wasn’t secure until some, Gretchen and sad sack Nico got fired. Under their rule they had so many breaches.
Now while there are layoffs there will be light at the end of all the firing!
@bv who were the good ones? I mean I have my list but most of them are technical or mid-management.
@cp Don't worry I got you, ESRO stands for extremely re--rded shitfu-ks at optum.
Meanwhile other teams are hiring endlessly. I don’t even know what ESRO stands for, who Mr. Candy Man is, or half the memes shared here.
The fact is this behemoth could can a thousand of us and not even register as a blip. Basically every single role now is designed around no one knowing how to do anything. Minimum viable product. If it su-ks they buy another mid cap adjacent company and run it ragged.
ESRO is a joke. With the amount of risk records, whitelisting and etc. is just paperwork and doesn't make the company any safer.
Isn’t it ironic that ESRO is a complete joke of an organization but so is all the engineering teams? No one feels good at Optum if you’re a leader or senior tech person.
In ESRO the impact of some, Aimee, Nico, Trevor coupled with great people leaving has had a serious consequence on morale!
Money makes the world go around. With the buy in of berkshire things will carry on. You may not be around but the business will survive just fine. perfect business model direct transfer of government money in to private pockets
The chickens are coming home to roost at a company and industry known for its corruption and greed. Big pharma needs a revolution that focuses on promoting health, not profiteering from illness.
