Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Layoffs are not done yet.

Sr. Manager here. I read this board every so often but, please don't get complacent and feel like you are safe right now. Unfortunately, it's not quite done. Last week was the majority but there is another round this coming Monday. I have 5 meetings with HR and my directs that I don't want to be in next week. Good luck .

@c0 They already had the "big one" of the summer. There will be trickles throughout September but nothing "big." The next "big" one will be Feb/Mar. area.

This quarter has just felt really bizarre for me.

Business is slow, communication with account teams has been super start-and-stop, and overall it’s got this “empty hallways” vibe.

I’m hoping September picks up, because right now I just feel kind of mentally disconnected from it all.

It’s every month. Next big one is Sept 2nd. Watch for it.

@at

"she"?

I didn't notice a gender indicator in the OP and since this is an anonymous site, I have to ask where you picked that up.

@bk if one thing is clear, is that Dell's ELT doesn't give a damn about our customers.
The "transformation" strategy they've been pushing is a clear and constant deterioration of customer experience, but this doesn't stop them from implementing them, since the ultimate goal is exclusively shareholders' short-term interest.
I think it's important customers are made aware of this: Dell only cares about keeping numbers in order to distribute dividends, and doesn't care about investing for long-term returns.

every person laid off from Dell is a lost customer, as well as their family members and perhaps their friends also. Dude, I'm not getting a Dell.

It will not be done for a long while and it will continue to get worse for people. There is a belief up top that AI will replace tons of administrative work. This is not unique to Dell. There is a sea change rising and it’s going to get ugly before it gets better for many Americans. The funny part is that it all collapses when people no longer have the means to buy your goods.

@as
She can't say it.

ISG group most likely, 20 people per headcount, tech support included. I also heard it from a manager.
