Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

DEPPI

Amplify made me look at the org charts they sent in June and is it me or is Jones leadership now just PP and friends? Women, new yorkers and indians i guess. Even the few blacks got pushed out. When they went heavy on DEI I was fine with it. Been here 19 years seen all kinds but I don't think that means just women who produced nothing but got promoted, out of STL indians and offshoring the rest to even more?? Wouldn’t be surprised if we see another lawsuit going the other direction. Feels like my LP is on the line because PP wants to bring in her whole crew.

Keir Gumbs, former Uber attorney, a black man who I believe was hired for his intelligence, not his skin color, actually threw out some DEI agenda himself, post Trump ‘25 election, to avoid lawsuits from whites. All this leads me to believe none of this has to do with DEI. It’s purely PooPoo who made bad choices in the past by creating too many layers in the company that she now has to fix. She admitted to this in the early days of Operation Regurgitation if you listen carefully to the words she used in her videos.

What they're doing su-ks, but this is bigoted nonsense. If anything, the firm is backtracking on DEI while doing their layoffs. We don't even use that language anymore. Stop attacking women and minorities, and focus on the actual issue - executive greed.

How can you be in the same disaster as others and still find a way to blame it on “others”? Instead of blaming their leadership you accuse their gender and race. I do not want anyone gone, but I want you to wake up and see you are in the same fire as people who are women and minorities and stop blaming them for a bad corporate decision. It gains you nothing to blame them and loses the camaraderie you might have had with the rest of us going through this as we won’t tolerate your bigoted views.

I am not a fan of political correctness. Even I have to say OP’s post and some of the responses prove that bigotry is alive and well at this firm.
With DEI being a focus in the past, I guess people wore masks. But, with the new norm in 2025, we will see these bigots come out of the woodwork.

This thread is in such poor taste. We are all going through tough times at the firm. Let’s keep race and ethnicity out of it.

@OP

PAGING KEN CELLA!
PAGING KEN CELLA!

You know, that fella (CELLA) that all assumed would earn the role of Managing Partner before the firm was influenced by all of the “Me Too” BS coming out of Hollywood.

All of this despite the fact that every great accomplishment at Edward Jones occurred while WHITE MEN held leadership here. (footnote: I know that white men are persona non grata today)

He will NEVER jeopardize his own payday by standing up against this chaos, but I know that deep inside a part of him dies every day having to witness this monstrosity.

Enjoy the tips to Boston and Aspen.

It all goes to show that, PP, that you’ve never had an original idea of your own. You know that we know that you’re incompetent and it would be hilarious if it was not so tragic for so many families of those affected.

Penelope should resign, along with the remainder of the Enterprise Leadership Team who led us into this debacle, but they will not.

Why: Because easy Investment Advisory money has made us SOFT AF. Gone are the days of advisors fighting for every client, every net new asset. It is a gravy train. We’re weak. We’re vulnerable.

FAs - I would be preparing for a new sign in front of your branch, and probably a new title.

“We value working in partnership” until we do not, and that day is absolutely coming as soon as someone comes through with a juicy enough purchase offer.

They believe their moves are complicated but they are not. Our Founder taught us a simple test: “and money has never been my God”.

Current leadership has failed Ted’s test and Ted’s legacy.

This firm, and the Jones’ legacy, are toast.

@OP what matters now is not race or experience etc...it all boils down to corporate politics 101. We will never be the same company after the dust settles from this disaster. Eventually, it will get so ugly that nobody will even know how the company used to be, which will make it easier to merge out to someone like US bank or whatever PP minions reimagine us as.
