Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Is the rumor about ECS true?

About major layoffs coming in September? I mean, it would make sense. They’ve been offshoring roles there like crazy.

Any more details on this. Feeling nervous. I started started my position with case management services. Was laid in the past and it's not fun job hunting...

I can't confirm the proportion hitting ECS, but there are to be two major RIFs in Optum Health, one in September and another in October, of comparable size. Potentially a small RIF in November as needed. It's 100% market driven. UHG can't miss Q4 earnings and then give guidance and hope investors won't revolt. Anyway, long way to say that "yes, ECS is impacted, and so is a lot of Optum Health."
