I know of a company that's shutting its outsourcing in both India and Romania.
They are opening opportunities in Algeria and Pakistan. Much cheaper!!

@e2 stickers and marketing materials will always be cheaper to make in those countries.
If I was Cisco, I would not do anything serious in China where Huawei reigns.
As far as India goes... that is a problem that will be soon raised.

@cy I'm sorry to disappoint you but two teams of contractors my team is closely working with are in India and China. Employed about an year ago. Both countries are top Russian oil buyers. Business doesn't care about those things. Cisco outsourcing to those two countries is something that isn't going to change any time soon. The war will end much before that.

Well at least it is not India anymore. Does Romania buy Russian oil to support the war in Ukraine?

India pretends it is national interest to buy Russian oil while Trump thinks it is US national interest not to. So then why continue to outsource jobs to India then? Let them write software for the Russians. I am sure it will be fun for both sides

For software engineers it is reality: our jobs can be easily outsourced to any place in the World. No matter how poor some country is, they can still train excellent software engineers. That's why I ki-led any idea for my daughter to find her future profession in software engineering. Thankfully, she accepted my arguments and doesn't even consider it, no matter how much they try to inspire young people, especially girls here (Western Europe) to pursue career in this kind of jobs.

Splunk outsourced many jobs to Poland.

STOP the outsourcing and greed by american corporations! Tech companies are paying high salaries that cannot be sustained for long term. Hence the continuous cycle of layoffs and outsourcing!!
