Hybrid was a fair compromise, it's never really been explained what was wrong with hybrid. Whatever it was, it was bigger than just AEP, as RTO has swept all across corporate America, regardless of the industry or nature of the business. Lots of theories but no definitive answers.
And we are also staring down the barrel of $4 a gallon gas soon, making that drive-in just to work at a computer terminal all day even more bitter.
It's obvious that AEP was not ready for this big RTO initiative in Columbus. They are making people move multiple times, construction in progress, and it's dirty/stinky in many areas. We aren't having collaboration, we have work disruption. More technical defects, breaks, and MI's than I have ever seen. The expectation to be in the office and then take everything home to keep working and be available 24x7 365 is terrible. Plus, people keep coming to work sick and then it spreads around. It would probably been more successful if they rennovated and then went to a hybrid model for working in the office.

Some deviants get off on disrupting other people's lives and exerting authority over them. They thrive in chaos and want everyone else to live in their dysfunctional dystopian world. Disrupting other people's orderly lives validates their narcissisms. They feel empowered by having control over others and exerting their authority without boundaries that respect individualism and liberty. Injustice imposed upon others gives them their illicit high and they have no impulse control. That is why the behave so aggressively when someone tries to reign them in and establish boundaries.
The majority must reject the abuse of authority and dysfunctional behavior that is harmful and unwarranted to protect their own well-being. This requires the majority to call out manipulative practices and abuses of authority that are disruptive and harmful,
Unless you're referring to territory in the Atlantic ocean, AEP exists in more than one time zone. It's RTO. It's not RTO to the corporate office in Columbus.
