Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Company culture

I started gaslighting myself by thinking about the good ole day at fidelity… then I remember being on multiple teams where women had extra children just for some time off. No, it’s always been this bad.

It’s a s-xist conspiracy theory and you don’t have “many women” on your team who said that. You’re making it up.

I think extra children just means additional children that were only born so the parent could get time off work. I know that after the child is born, things change but I have been told by many women on my team that said they only planned to have x children, but they needed a break from the stress of their jobs and had y number of children.

Extra children? You mean like spares, in case the other children break.
What the F are you talking about?

Right, because women just love wrecking their bodies, going through labor, and then getting zero sleep for years… all for the luxury of a few weeks away from Fidelity. Sounds totally worth it. You sound bitter and s-xist. Maybe instead of inventing womb-based PTO schemes, consider that the real problem is the company making work feel like a punishment people are desperate to escape.

The old adage “Be a Johnson, know a Johnson, don’t have a Johnson.”

And while they preach DE&I, they are not an elder friendly company. Not at all.
