The pictures in the free press are super cool. Corktown neighborhood is going to be a great place to work and live. I’m thinking about buying a condo nearby and just bike to work. My only concern is snow in the winter.

@OP if your only concern is snow in the winter you are an id--t, which means you are on the fast track to senior management. My advice; buy a supplemental health insurance policy, a hooptie car and some fuzzy slippers. Once you get out of the hospital, you will be all set.

@ep My boy moved from out-of-state to Detroit when he got hired and even bought a house! Homie was let go around a year into the stint. The house had to be let go too. He had no connections here. He moved back and got a job. Learned his lesson. Did not trust the company and go all in next time. No house yet.
Mexican village restaurants are literally a mile away. Buying a house in the area is a great investment opportunity. I’m young and have time on my side. In 10 years, people will look back and wonder how they missed this opportunity.

Biking to work is your best bet considering they have no secured parking.
