Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Posts regarding what is the role XYZ

How pathetic you guys are to target individuals roles, responsibilities?

Everyone in this firm has mortgage, rent to pay, families to take care of.

They all have same life situations to deal with, they were all part of layoffs, job cuts in past in some cases, yet some people are so insecure about themselves they make these posts about roles, which is ridiculous.

@OP, yes I can definitely empathize with my boss, a L8 VP. He has not one mortgage but at least four that he disclosed through the chitchats over the years. He works hard, a DIY guy, on the management and maintenance of his properties. The one way we agree on for me to support him is he forwarding all his Fidelity work to me, many times with a "sent from iPhone" signature. He treated me well with promotions and bonuses but do I secretly wish him being laid off? Yes.

It’s impossible to expect humanity from anybody these days. They will do as they please and becoming upset about it and making these posts doesn’t help.

Calm down, folks. The ultimate judgement is the upcoming layoff. Let's see who are going to be cut off. The "achieved" ones or the contibuting ones.

People who can't achieve something themselves often complain by targeting specific group, roles.

This has been classic example of how individuals who feel entitled work.

Anytime humanity has felt something is being "stolen" from them was due to their own inability to rise up be be deserving to fall into the same shoes as those who are being targeted by these posts.

Google "gestalt psychlogy" and it's theory of "ground and figure" organization of human cognition. The XYZ roles complained here stand out in someway, whether it's over-representation (architects, biggest democracy) or overly dead weight (middle management). Their existence are "stealing" from the majority in the ground someway, hence the "hate" toward them. They can only blame themselves for the noncontributing roles they put themselves in.
