@bw As the other poster said, if you are living paycheck to paycheck you are in a world of hurt for the rest of your life.

I quit/retired from Dell 18 months ago. Effectively I just up and quiet. I was tired of chasing a layoff that never came.

@c9 Wow, someone sh-t in your Cheerios, eh? Be nice, it isn't hard. They said they would email documents within 5 days after termination date. Not fun for people who no longer have a paycheck coming in. Keep an eye on your email I guess?
It's all in the email you got from HR. Go read the documents. It will take 30 minutes. You clearly have the time.
IDK but, IMPO it should be IMMIDIATELY after you are told you are laid off. People do have rent and bills to pay...
