Thread regarding Ford layoffs

This project is going to light the match. I thought the company was already torched

Jim Farley the joke.

If he saw china coming for years why did Farley wait till the 9th inning to do something?

Incompetence! That’s what

Well looks like Fartley will be here to go down with the ship. Billy and Jimbos st---y for BEVs is mind boggling.

@a1 Farley will be “retiring” to “spend more time with family” very soon.

@ap "I graduated from UCLA in 2017 with a degree in Biochemistry, a specialization in Computing and a minor in Anthropology."

And not to be creepy, but check the author's LinkedIn. Been working here since...April. LOL. Can't make this stuff up.

@ac correct, the author is a former Apple Alumnus. Totally fabricated story with narcissistic IG vibe with photos.

That was a very underwhelming reveal. They built it up and up and was total let down. The Chinese will probably be doing the same thing next month. We're sc--wed.

@a8 See the article on the company homepage where the engineer talks about having a dog beach, great cuisine and a wonderful thrift shops in the area.

@a9 agree. I find it very odd that they were even allowed to compare this to the model T, when it’s just another idea. Don’t get me wrong, it sounds like a solid idea and I have nothing to gain if they sc--w it up - I want it to work. It just seemed like when using the Model T name there should be some degree of certainty or even a physical product to look at, hope for, and work towards. This just sounded like a multi-billion dollar idea announced at a political rally.

@a9 It was weird hearing that, don't they have confidence in what they are doing? It's like saying we are going to spending billions and may have to write it off, again.

Two moments stick out:
JF literally said "I can't guarantee 100% this will work"
DF literally said "If we can pull this off..."

Who writes these things for them. Does leadership need a speech writer?

I will never forget where I was when this was announced, truly groundbreaking. (on the toilet) Didn't a startup just announce something like this not too long ago? Only I think it sounded a lot cooler, and cheaper.

Mustang doesn’t have a twin turbo engine option.

If that’s not incompetence from Jim then nothing is.

Why do they keep showing the old car from 1912?
Where is this vehicle. Will they show it or just keep blabbing on?

Keep reading from that teleprompter Jim!

I can’t believe how much the company pays that azzhat.

We can’t even get spare parts to keep our machines running.

His speech is lots of talk with little substance.
