Every single Sunday, I feel sick to my stomach thinking of potential layoffs. No reprieve, even a week after we just had major cuts. How are we supposed to function in such an environment? How are we supposed to stay healthy? Or even sane? Is this really our new normal?

My days of going over and above are long gone....my advice is do your 8hrs a day and thats it. Were all expendible at the drop of a hat, so save your sanity and mental peace of mind.
They can get rid of me if doing an honest 8hrs isnt enough amongst all the slackers that do nothing but make more work for everyone else
It depends on which dept you work for; however, Dell has been laying off people on an unprecedented scale over the last few years in every single department. No job is safe at Dell, this is a methodic purge of every vital layer of the organization. If you work for tech support, I would advise looking for another job as fast as possible. A lot of people are quitting due to high call volumes and restrictions, along with moral harassment of PIP with unrealistic goals, making high morale attrition a daily routine. This workplace has grown extremely toxic for many, leaving them feeling that their contributions no longer have any real value to the organization. Run while you can before it is too late.
In the coming days, major upheavals are on the horizon, and there’s no realistic chance that people will be able to cope with them, and if you stick around, you’ll likely end up like many others struggling with chronic health issues and relying on excessive medication to fight depression and anxieties.
You stay sane by looking for new job and getting out. I left, 3 years ago, before all the layoffs started. The first week of my new job the sense of relief I felt was unreal. The pay cut was worth the peace of mind.
Same…Sunday is the look for Business Update mail
Try not to stress about what is out of your control. In the meantime, control the things you can, like looking elsewhere. Part of the problem is Dell doesn’t address their layoffs like most companies do. They stay quiet and hope it will just die down. They never address the survivors of a layoff. The people who are still there. The lack of transparency builds resentment, lack of trust and ki-ls productivity.
Are you in tech support? If so brace yourself for more b/s
Think about how hard Mike and Jeff are laughing about your post right now...
