@d5 Or a means to control what days associates work. They cutting hours because associates are refusing to work certain days
Stores are not just cutting an individual hours, but the entire store hours are being cut.
Walmart keeps bad employees for years just like, bad store managers and coaches.
Actually, you’re wrong. Walmart is an “At Will” employer. They can most certainly fire for any reason or no reason.
But, getting rid of undesirable associates is easier if they just go away. Cutting hours is an effective tool. It works.
@d5 But but but that's against the Wal-Mart policy, there's no such thing as undesirable at Wal-Mart, it's not as if they can fire at will for any reason whatsoever and associates have zero job security today, tomorrow etc not matter how long you've been there......no not at all.....You are always one step away from being a shopper, not a employee, what determines that? Which way is the wind blowing?
It’s not tariffs. That person should go finish high school or get a GED.
Store associate hours are not usually cut because the stores are typically understaffed.
By far, the #1 reason store associate hours are cut is because the associate is undesirable.
Tariffs. At the end of the day, US corporations and US consumers are paying for the tariffs. As prices go up, there will be less customers who come to the store to buy since they don't have money. And if less customers in the store, then less employees needed to run the store. If hours are being cut right now, with tariffs just getting started, wait until tariffs fully kick in. Then their will be layoffs. Save your money cause tough times are ahead.
