Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Tired of thes CEOs not being held accountable

These CEOs are just not accountable anymore for their actions and the way they’re going able “preparing for the future” is just a load of sh!t.

They’re preparing for two things.

  1. Putting more money in their pockets.
  2. Putting money in their shareholders pockets.

I wish they just had the ba--s to say that. It would make life a lot easier instead of these long drawn out BS emails about how “they’re preparing for the future” or “AI is changing the industry…” or some other load of cr-p.

No, they’re not incredibly smart or see the future. They’re greedy little pr!cks who don’t care about anyone else but themselves.

@a7 $300K - $1M a year for C level? I'm an IC and made more than $300K last year. I know first level managers making $400K a year. Go talk to an AE5 or AE6 and ask how much they make.

@OP

Since we can't beat em, I've learned to join em. Over the last two decades, I've extracted maximum financial value from this company, with minimal personal investment, and delivered a minimal functional objective.

My ethics and morals were fluid, and my social responsibility in doing so was a ruse. I extracted value until there was no more value to extract, and an empty shell of a corporation was all that remained.

Dell made me in their image, and I hope they are proud of their creation. My shareholders are certainly happy with their ROI. In the end, that's all that matters.

Last time I checked, you aren't supposed to be posting with a boot hanging out of your mouth. And yet, you still do.

Every tool we create is another co worker they lay off and don't replace.

Every effort we make is profit they pocket.

We don't see a dime from paid support so I won't even offer it to customers because Dell won't pay me more for going above and beyond.

They made our parents and grand parents train people in India to replace them. Now they're making us train AI to replace us.

The more workers replaced, the fewer buyers our service economy has and the more insanely rich over entitled executives there are.

All the big players are colluding to suppress wages everywhere. If you think the answer is "get another job" you don't see the paradigm shift bulldozing us real time.

AI isn't ready to do this work but the executives -don't care-. They don't care it'll pi-s off customers. They don't care some of these laid off people will ki-l themselves.

The only thing they care about is money. So the only thing we can do is sabotage AI training, drag our feet on every project, and when we are shown the door, burn the motherf----rdown.

Well, as long as JC is there... C levels will never be held accountable because that would mean JC would be held accountable. duh

@a8 You do realize that C level execs get at minimum a year severance + their stock options + vastly extended health insurance coverage, right?

IC level folk get a whopping two months of pay and like a month or so of health insurance before dell says "good luck, have fun."

Getting laid off as a C level, you still get your crazy high salary for at least a year which means, you have a good amount of time to find a new job. Sorry but, most people would be lucky to find a new job in a 2 month period. At least one that pays the bills, anyways.

Someone who's making 100k/year doesn't exactly have the luxury of "downgrading" bills like one who is making 500k/year does.

"Last time I checked the policy says you are welcome to leave anytime."

Pathetic. Be good if you had a spine.

Why should the C level people care? They bring in 300-1m/year lol. C levels aren't getting laid off. They get fired, not laid off and even at that, they get INSANE severance packages anyways because there aren't exactly an abundent of companies actively looking for C level positions..

@a2 Obviously... but most people want a severance so as you should know, as a "CFO" it's better to be laid off than to quit unless you have a new job lined up already.

Which brings in a new problem.. Those who want to leave/get laid off are obviously going to do the absolute bare minimum in order to get a paycheck and milk some money, which will or could very much impact productivity for other team members, projects, etc...

Imagine a senior engineer who manages idk - the VPN's or Service Now for example - who wants to be let go but keeps being passed up. What incintive does that person have to do a "good" job in anything they do? IF they even do it at all...

If Dell wants to be under xyz head count then, why not introduce a voluntary lay off program in which those who want to leave, volunteer to be laid off when layoffs are happening? Volunteer layoffs get a 4m severance while those who don't volunteer get the typical, and dogshit 2m severance.

While I'm not one of them as I love my job at Dell, I am 100% positive there are a LOT of people who would happily volunteer to be laid off... with a severance of course.
Problem is that Dell is so money hungry and greedy that they'd prefer to make everybody miserable to save a few bucks.

You 100% are not a CFO either LOL.
