Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Food for Thought

If you can’t figure out how to have AI do your job within about 1200 days, you’ll probably never disposable income again.

No pressure.

Btw - the fact that you’re still at Intel is highly suggestive that already well behind the real world. Better learn how to sew.

Data privacy and copyrights as well as energy related constraints will hit the brakes on AI. Don't bank too much on AI alone. It's wild west at the moment with no regulations. Once regulations kick in, watch the number of bankruptcies. It will be astounding! Enjoy the ride while it lasts!

Seychelles are nice but I prefer a trust in the Cook Islands to protect my assets. I'll never have the vast resources of our leaders but with AI covering my work here and my second job it's a decent amount. They'd pretend to be mad if they ever found out but in reality they'll actually respect me morefor it. Especially if I run into into themMonaco

OP is right. No one wants to hire former intel. Ride it out as long as you can because for majority of us this is the end the last stop. Most will never work again.

@cp You’re a legend. Say more? Share the wealth? The ride will run out eventually, more fun if you folks helping your put it to the man. We’ll sit and laugh about it over beers and joints from the Seychelles.

AI is not going to take your job, but it may well take your 401k if you are not careful.

If you check all your fund and stocks, and come to realize they are all in the same dozen companies, then you better hope the government can prevent another recession from ever happening again..ever.

About every 20 years, the market flushes out the bad ideas that everyone invested in, and moves on to the next set of bad ideas.

The last real recession was 2007-2009, so the clock is ticking.

Can the government keep stuffing dollars into the economy fast enough, or will paying down debt with tariffs break the trend?

AI is not food for thought.

The brain runs on carbs, so maybe a snickers bar is food for thought, but not AI.

AI is just the new shiny object, to encourage people to squander trillions in the hope of some eventual payoff.

You know, like the dot-bo-b era.

Not really, just career change and be a politician... Or pick a trade. They make tons of money now. Electricians making 220k, plumbers 150k, Firefighters making 180k, welders 110k to 180k, crane operators 120k to 300k, or a BART train operator for 280k.

What intel really needs is 996 workers for $80k per year. Koreans are the right candidates.

AI is useful, but it makes a lot of mistakes, and you need the knowledge to know when it is wrong.

Spoken by someone who's never tried to use AI for anything meaningful.
