Thread regarding ON Semiconductor Corp. layoffs

EFK hourly employees need to union up CWA can help

Rumor has it. Life under the new GM is about to change, your shifts are changing. No weekends off you work a Sat. Or Sun. Ask your manager my manager wouldn’t look me in eye to confirm or deny.

Layoffs at other locations but efk not affected. When will it be our turn? They recently closed down huge areas a building where the office workers are located. Time is ticking and it is getting shorter and shorter. Our time is at hand.

Efk gm announced a week shutdown around Christmas week. Waiting for details if it is furlough or paid time off.

@6dq And he has the audacity to think he’s going to turn EFK into a place where people are excited and want to come to work.

The gm has turned everything into a critical issue. Has engineers on call 7 days a week to ensure a wafers gets through on time. He has deemed that there should be a certain number of lots shipped each week. If they don't have enough lots to ship, they have to "find them". It now becomes an issue to get them out on time. Hence groups (that were never on call before), now have to be available 24 hours a day.

@19p I agree. This is a way to make everyone quit without them having to pay severance.

I am beyond stressed. I want to quit, but the job market is in the toilet. Way too much work being thrown at me. Just found out today my schedule had changed. I am not allowed to work even 1 minute of overtime. Clocking out on time is more important than any work I may be doing. There are no grace periods. You clock in 1 minute late, or clock out 1 minute past your end time and you are written up. After a certain number, you are fired. The anxiety and stress are unbearable. I cry in my car before I get into work and cry as soon as I leave. Never in my life have I experienced something like this. Onsemi you su-k!!!!!

@19p

Yea it don’t make sense. Take people that don’t get paid overtime, move to a schedule that makes them have overtime, and that solves an overtime problem. ???? SLT just nods in agreement cause too intimidated to talk back as they’ve been told if they can’t make changes then he’ll just get someone else who can. Just trying to call our bluff. Wants people to leave… but said himself “threats of quitting aren’t going to change anything “.

From the all hands it sound like he wants employees to leave because of the new schedule… yeah wants older employees to leave they don’t have to give them severance pay. That’s why they can justify paying 8 hrs ot a pay period in the schedule to new Aws people all 37% of us… hey and all shifts get a weekend day… CWA union EFK nothing in the fab moves without us.

@OP I’d be more concerned for the salaried employees. Employee moral going way down the tubes and people in constant anxiety. Such a shame on what it’s becoming.
