Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco's Culture of Fear and Anxiety

There may be layoffs next week and there may not be layoffs. Only the ELT truly knows and they have cultivated a climate of fear, anxiety and distrust.

remember the layoff announcement in sales that lingered for 3 months? It literally made people sick with anxiety.

There is no company loyalty. I can name 5 senior executives who spent years singing the praises of Cisco and are now Leading the competition: Arista, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Nile, HPE, Juniper...the list goes on and on.

Cisco doesn't even have to lay you off to break your spirit and induce fear every 6 months. the investment in AI is diverting the resources away from everything else. AI is a bubble and the music is about to stop.

It didn't used to be this way. sad really.

@cf Nile is cr-p. I would call it "Senile Insecure". Their business model is: "rent-a-hardware to a school". Good luck surviving this in the midst of Trump's budget cuts. Their "AI" part is: bunch of Indians are on call 24/7 monitoring logs and fixing network issues. Overall: typical Indian sweatshop running by toxic and useless ex-Cisco dead wood.
It exists only to su-k money from investors. Mentioning it among Palo Alto and Juniper is laughable at least.

The deadlock is brutal.

Cisco is putting employees on sideways comp, no career growth, no team growth...because it can in this hiring market. ELT knows full well that rank-and-file have few/no options.

But employees are returning the favor and phoning it in, resulting in lower productivity and reduced prospects.

Many of us have been in this situation at other companies. There is no escape from this deadlock. It really has turned into a death spiral.

Never has been and this is only good news for Cisco.
