Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

18A yield at 10%

Last year 18A yield was 5% now it's 10% with the critical production, intel is not profitable for the foreseeable. LBT brought in to dismantle intel piece by piece and into design like everyone else..TSMC N2 node is yielding at 90% intel has no chance

Can someone from Def Met chime in with actual yields? Someone from the Board keeps leaking acceptable yields while credible news sources say it's 10%. Whose right and whose wrong?

Functional yield or parametric yield?

Even Dave Z. ha said that PTL will not be great for margins.

Follow the logic from that.

I thought Intel had this issue with 14nm node 5 years ago. Did they just rename it with 18A again?

If Intel yield is good, it will not let TSMC manufacture 75% of its own chips.

I only believe the reality, not the high talks.

Lol. “ I know the actual rate but I'm not gonna share” What is this kindergarten? Do you think it’s a joke? We have to nail this one or it’s game over & posts like this give me Zero confidence.

Show me a product that is free of defects makes money and I’ll entertain your dalliance.
P.S. Which chiplet are you referring to, the one TSMC is cranking out or the ones we still can’t get right?

Just pull an “Intel”: switch the naming convention again and we can keep running 14 but call it 7nm 😊

i dont think you know what you are talking about "TSMC N2 node is yielding at 90%"

you just read this in a reddit thread and sharing here. Also, yields doesn't get the full attention at the moment when the Intel is under LBT who is working for CCP. Now its a national security threat! who knows what CCP wants to do with INTEL
