Thread regarding J&J Snack Foods Corp. layoffs

J&J Holly Ridge NC / 50 people laid off (permanent layoffs, mostly)

J&J Snack Foods abruptly closed its facility in Holly Ridge, North Carolina, resulting in 48 immediate job losses. The plant, located at 312 Sound Road, sustained major structural damage from a fire on August 19, 2024. A letter sent to the NC Department of Commerce in September 2024 cited the fire as the cause, with layoffs scheduled for November 9, 2024.

A total of 78 employees were laid off by that date. The layoffs were permanent, and no new WARN notices have been filed in 2025 as of July.

Town and county officials are working with local partners, including Coastal Carolina Community College and N.C. Works, to assist affected workers. Further updates are expected once J&J releases an official statement.
