Hiring LBT is now in the running for the worst decision ever made by the Intel board of directors. How could they fail to see this coming?

Frank Yeary is behind the scenes stirring up distractions - not caring if it impacts employees.
We have a felon who is President with lots of conflicts of interest. Why are we picking on Lip Bu Tan? Tom Cotton and the GOP rubber stamp anything the administration does (e.g. Setting Tariff is the job of the legislative branch, but the executive branch is taking a unilateral stance).
This is a shocking development and prime fodder for a journalist. LBT should be sidelined and investigated immediately
Shittel needs china. China doesn't need or want shittel.
So you're telling me there might be a chance?
Yeaahhhh!
The most delulu aspect of this thread is the thought that China wants Intel IP.
There is literally nothing China wants to steal from Intel at this point. They don't even want Intel chips in most of their PCs.
China may not have caught up to NVDA yet but they are past having any focus on Intel.
@a2 Frank Yeary is the worst of them.
This is shocking! Didn’t board do any due diligence before hiring Lipton? The guy is a Trojan horse trying stealthily to ki-l US advanced semi manufacturing capability and so far seems to be competent at that. Instead of spending on F35s and what not how is anyone ignoring this long term threat to our security?
Unfortunately our house and senate are all in the pocketbooks of the lobbyists of these companies, except for Mr Cotton.
Easy, they fail at everything.
@ac 2.2 billion awarded so far.

would LBT be another Intel CEO forced to resign ?
@aa Intel has barely gotten any taxpayer money. In order to build capacity and jobs, the CHIPs money needs to come.
Walk him out in handcuffs. Invite the media to report.
Intel: We will take taxpayer money and continuing doing whatever we want. Like it or not, That's not going to fly with the current American Government.
@a5 Don’t forget LBT owns Walden which was investigated by DOJ as well for ties with CCP.
Basically his company got caught selling technology to a military university to build we-pons and paid a fine. But he is still investing millions in China.
The membership of the Intel Board has been a really big problem for a long time - at least 15 years. It is exceptionally doubtful if the Board previously looked into any of the concerns the Senator raised prior to installing LBT as CEO.
Intel is going downhill. Good luck anyone staying here!
Tan served as Cadence’s CEO from 2009 until December 2021 and remained executive chairman until May 2023. The illegal exports occurred between 2015 and 2021....
The violations involved illegally selling chip design software and hardware to Chinese front companies tied to the National University of Defense Technology—an institution U.S. authorities identify as supporting nuclear explosion simulations. Cadence paid 140million fine and on probation.
And one of um is from BlackRock! W.T.F.? Do we want to be involved in this sh-t-show?
Speaking of the Intel BOD. Do some research. We are working for a bunch elite out of touch of losers.
