I’ve worked at several companies like Merck, and it’s always the same cycle - reorgs every few months, layoffs around every corner. You barely get a chance to find your footing before priorities shift again. Projects I’ve poured months into just vanish overnight. There’s no time to hone skills or deliver results, just a constant scramble to stay relevant. It’s frustrating and draining. How are we supposed to do meaningful research in an environment that resets itself on a regular basis?
