Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Better Operators (O&G, Petchem, Industrial Gases)

With the number of people here citing concerns with Exxon work culture, any better alternatives in this space? Chevron is also cutting jobs. Any employers that stand out in the Houston region?

Industrial gases companies are very inbred and very woke/DEI to the point of being intractable for most. Cheap basterds, too

I've worked for many. Exxon is not the best but they all su-k in their own ways. If you want fun times you'll need to seek something smaller in a growing industry. There you will be empowered to make things happen and do what makes sense.

But it's a job. They all su-k in some way.

Not really any good choices out there to be honest.

The purely chemical companies generally have better culture. Pay may not be as good but they value long time employees more.
