Had an older lad come around to each desk in North tower for Voyix asking us to hand write our names and the desk # that we usually sit at. We weren’t allowed to write our coworkers names down who were working remote today. Anyone know whats up?

What floor were you on when this happened? IT floor? There’s a big project kicking off with outside people so they were probably trying to find empty desks for them.
Not all people they got let go are unhappy about it, when it happen to me it was my last job I would ever have, I would say thank you is my case, not disgruntled at all!
But yeah, why didn’t you ask what’s going on, nothing wrong with asking?
WHY DIDNT YOU ASK WHY? Your first action is to run to the layoff and ask a bunch of disgruntled employees why? Like they would know? If they do layoff I suggest they start with you, lad.
And you didn't think to ask the older lad why he needed this information?
Maybe whoever is on that team is trying to take your teams desk space
Sounds to me like they are looking for a way to get rid of people with a reason, this way no severence or unemployment…….. anyone really surprised, company is ruthless
