Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Dec. 9th walkout

I’m turning off my phone and not taking any calls for 96 hours starting 0001 December 9th, 2022.

There is no possible way to put the whole rr in upgrade.

I wont wait for permission from anyone. That hunk of cr-p rr is an inanimate object. We make it move not anything else. We don’t move it don’t move. 96 hours and we will see who actually holds the stick.

Good luck

All you guys talk about walking out. You're not. You're not going to get more sick days. Go to work, deal with it. Don't like the work, well you know what do. Bunch of sissies at the railroad. Wah wah

Would a sickout be treated as a strike ? Even a 3 or 4 day sickout would have profound results. The court of public opinion has already judged the railroads as being unfair to their hardworking employees. Even a lot of the politicians recognize the need for change.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing, while expecting a different result. The ball was in the government’s hands, but they punted. The ball is now back in our hands, and if we don’t run a different play, we will not ever score.

This is a great idea. The problem is you have people like poster gvy who don’t care about anything but themselves. I think everyone should have a sickout. The company could not fire anyone and this would get the attention of every politician and might cause them to fast track legislation to enact a sufficient number of sick days industry wide.

If one group of trainmen stuck together and did this exact thing in just one location. Just one, all the class 1’s would tumble and TE&Y would get sick days. I firmly believe sick days were always a NO bcuz railroads refuse to hire & retain the additional employees needed if current railroaders gained sick days. The railroads told congress they would only allow sickdays is if WE employees paid for it. The only other two options now is give them single man crews in exchange for sickdays (and a bunch get laid off) or alot of people quit and dont come back.
