Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Qualcomm modem fanboys pretty quiet lately.

Used to be so much "Apple will never succeed, Qualcomm forever ! ." Now, crickets.

Qualcomm modem fanboys and their leaders are desperately trying to become AI experts before layoffs hits their bloated org chart. You can not walk the corridors without bumping into a modem director or above.

Yes, apple's one of the great companies of today. Most of the profit is from cloud and services, not where the QRejects work. QRejects continue to milk the gravy train wherever they go.

@w6 Apple strong ($3T), Qualcomm weak ($159B).

QRejects at A took a lot longer than mediatek to create a modem.

@rk People haven't been given a good reason yet to care about AI, so it has no impact on sales.

Apple promised AI and they shipped nothing. People don't care, the brand is that strong. Just like Trump.

My 10-generation old phone occasionally can't get a signal. I don't give a sh-t. It works good enough.

@d7

He-l ya buddy. Even Qualcommers don't care. 4 in 10 people in my team use iPhone. We don't believe that the things we do are significant value addition.

@d7 Generally you are right. Except when your mate, gf, etc. are on your same plan. Then it is hard to explain. I think it is not bad enough yet for apple users to force them to change

@d7 correct..

That's what Samsung will tell in commercials why it's counterpart is slower

@ac Nobody cares. When people have poor connection - who do they blame? The provider. AT&T, T-Mobile, etc... Masses don't even know what a modem is.
