I heard if you make it clear you’re open to leaving, they’ll sometimes go along with it. Curious if that’s real or just wishful thinking.

It’s funny for years I was fearful of getting RIFed so moved around companies and moved internally after getting here at Optum. I am finally tired of it all and ready mentally and financially to be let go… now the wait begins like most of my peers. At best I have 2hrs of real work and waiting for work. Problem is we are in Q3 when we should be runnning. So this means our leaders are trashing and can’t come up with products to generate revenue in Q1,2. Basically we’re trashing how to build metrics around little work we do have to meet RRP. No new products. This is what happens when tech focuses too much on one this called AI.
I know of several cases of people leaving because they were basically given no work to do for weeks so they just decided to leave. How crazy is that? From personal experience, I can tell you they are trying to get some of us to quit so they do not have to pay severance. Tactics include "redeployment" to positions that do not fit, so staff quits or get terminated for performance issues and providing almost no work and/or communication.
No, they are like a company that like to instill fear, stress in their employees. They use this to increase metrics and productivity so why would they lay one off if you indicate you would be open to this opportunity. I suggested a layoff list for years.
