It starts with promises of a fast-paced environment and a tight-knit team. Then you’re pulling 10-hour days with no breaks, covering for people who mysteriously disappear midweek, and juggling three people’s work while being told to do it with a smile. Holidays, weekends, no matter what, if your boss says so, you’re still expected to work. Advancement never comes, accountability only applies one way, and management’s word changes weekly. You’ll sit through pointless meetings, clean up messes that aren’t yours, and still be told you’re not doing enough. But hey, they’ll call it being part of the family.
