Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell is now a Bain Consulting Playbook

Leadership have no clue and are completely inept. All decisions are now based on a Bain consulting playbook. Why? No accountability is required.. “the consultants told us to do it”.

Which is ironic.. dell brought on chuck whitten from Bain and he didn’t last. Why? He offered fresh ideas to a leadership team who have passed their use by date. Fresh talent is needed at the top - people who aren’t institutionalized and can challenge the norms

From what I understand... Chuck caused a major fu-k-up with nvidia. Something along the lines of having the opportunity to buy out their remaining stock and not doing so (along with some choice words for nvidia). Probably not "the" reason, but one of many reasons I've heard.

@a2 rumor has it that he tried things outside the generic playbooks once he understood the company more. Example: solution and outcome selling for team structures and go to market - this was shown the door due to box selling mentality
