When you accept the PIL my paperwork says that ExxonMobil provides Company Provided Outplacement Services. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of anyone else who used this service and was successful with being placed with another company. Is this service worth a damn and actually help the person or is it worthless to even use.

This is a NICE perk!
And you guys thought PIPs were bad.
Anyways, take advantage of those goodies.
I believe there is this service not because it has much worth but because it's required (either by law in different jurisdictions or to avoid being sued by resentful employees). If you haven't been looking for jobs in the last 7-10 years, perhaps it's good to use them as the first test/filter before going out externally. If you joined recently then I don't think they'll teach you any meaningful lessons.
I have used that outplacement agency and it's pretty much useless imo. It will ask you to create your profile at LinkedIn which is going to be your main means of finding your next job. You'll have the option to have an advisor, in my case I opted for one, never called nor checked in on me, useless. Professional networking, LinkedIn, and ChatGPT would do without RM.
They use right management. It’s a minor commitment and worth using to help get your resume in order.
If it’s the same group, it’s a company that’ll help you develop your resume, provide career coaching, and give you tips to build your “brand.” I used it, but the personal connections I had with people in industry were much more valuable in finding my next opportunity. It’s demoralizing, but better days are in store.
Wish you all the best luck.
Outplacement service means they provide boxes and have security escort you to your vehicle.
