Who's honestly surprised though? Literally... Even the Execs/ C level leadership and he-l, even JC and MD? I sure hope they weren't surprised... With as many MAJOR changes they've made the last 2.5 years?
- Hybrid versus remote employees - choose your poison. Lasted for a year.
- Constant layoffs that never fkn end
- The Hybrid policy went out the window and it became mandatory RTO 5 days/week for anybody within an "hours" drive, which is BS because I'm NOT within that and still deemed "in office." Those who can't go in simply because there isn't an office near them (remote) aren't eligible for promotions and/or pay raises.
- Promotions have been MIA for YEARS
Raises are comically hilarious given the cost of living
Offices are pathetic. Gyms were dispersed of. Onsite med centers gone. Cafeterias are comical and overpriced. Pizza, burgers, chicken tenders, fries, a "wrap bar" and a whole bunch of cr-p quite literally bought from HEB (grocery store) and then marked up.
Offices in RR look the same as they did 30 years ago... Still just remodeled parking garages.
Parking is a disaster
- Desk space is a disaster
idk about other orgs but mine never has a "budget" for fkn anything... even critical sh-t.
Travel/conferences? I mean, dell constantly harps on collaboration in person but yet I've yet to meet my manager in the 8 years I've been here and he's LITERALLY 4 hours away lmfao. They want us to learn AI and bla bla but refuse to pay for anybody to GO learn. there are some solid AI conferences and nope. Too "expensive!" But better learn it or else!
RTO 5 days/week and being MONITORED? WTF are we? children? Dell loves to spout how they are all for a "flexible" work/life balance but idk about that anymore. Especially considering dell has ALWAYS been a 3 day in, 2 days at home company...
I think my favorite is that they want us to use the "#iworkfordell" hashtag LOL... as if anybody is bragging about working for dell these days.
I mean, I'm finding it hard to ever want to recomend dell as a half way decent place to work anymore. In fact, I wouldn't actually tell or reccomend anybody to work for them at this point and the irony is that I love my job at dell. I wish I didn't in some ways lol...
