Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

RTO Poor Leadership

If leaders knew how to lead effectively, RTO would not be necessary. People will work for leaders they respect. They will go above and beyond. They will put in the extra hours because they feel valued. If you need to babysit them, it says a lot about you as a leader.

Fight the man and join the 99% by calling out sick or using PTO on 9/9!

@af thank you for this post. I second your top performing strategy. It is no longer worth it and not to mention we don’t get paid for it. The old Verizon is gone and the current Team does not give a hoop about any of us. They raised the pricing today, announced RTO last week. They are doing a great job at decreasing morale and pushing good employees out the front door. Happy employees perform at higher levels. We’re on the Titanic just watching it sink.

People stop whining about working from an office...it is not going to fix it... It is a perk WFH, either you find another job that allows it or s..it up...seriously...we all know that working from home was a lot more efficient, we worked more in exchange for that perk,..however knowing the state of our leadership and the copycat model they follow, it was expected....I am stopping the high performing right away..not worthy anymore with the new changes in hiring.... going back to the basis and get paid until it ends...unreachable before clock in ....unreachable atfer clocking out.......until I find something better...enjoy life, VZ will be there after we are gone after all ...

Your whining won't change their mind this company has always been top down leadership. They don't care about your opinion. They made a decision, and will pound the square peg in the round hole.

They want people to quit. They don’t want to pay severance. They don’t care about us and haven’t for years now. Odd that a business would go with a strategy that negatively impacts such a large portion of their workforce. The business did better when they cared for their employees.

Agreed. Most work longer hours due to not having to commute. Also, is real estate and parking available? Teleworking started in the mid 2000s, prior to COVID due to the closing of office buildings. Those obsessing about RTO obviously never teleworked, they need direct supervision or they don't know how to perform their job.
