Thread regarding Microsoft Corp. layoffs

Does the fruit taste sweet? or bitter?

People worked so very very hard to contribute, improve and streamline AI. Taking much pride in their work on something that is truly cutting edge. Now that its all come to pass and is getting much better exponentially every day, does the fruit of your labor tastes sweet? or bitter?

Those actually working with hands on AI, I’m sure have been very handsomely rewarded at such a magnitude with a financial parachute that their feet never touched the ground, so I’m sure it tastes sweet. What about everyone else? What about those that are “no longer needed” at Microsoft…..anymore? Are the remaining employees on edge with worry that they are next? The stock price is way up, awesome. Thumbs up all the way around, so no harm no foul…..right?

Of course if let go, you can always just go back to school and re-invent yourself and learn coding and large language model and BAM!!!! instant job, because that’s how it works. You just hammer out such learning over the weekend and you’ve got a job on Monday.
