Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

LinkedIn promotions

Cracks me up seeing names of reps and managers being promoted for positions that were terrible in the entry level roles they were hired to do originally due to letting go all of the experienced higher paid team members in lieu of this cheap bad talent. And you wonder why you can’t execute any new strategy.

What’s wild is AVPS want proven leaders with people management experience yet hire account managers with none. Looking you a--hole!

Marketing has always been a silo and not aligned with Sales. Sales create materials that are unprofessional and ineffective to blast their customers nonsense and you wonder why customers are sick of our emails and ask for us to not email them or call them. Outside reps work 20% of their week and do check in calls and inside reps work 20% of their day and do check in calls. No one wants a check in visit or a check in call. Your sales and marketing model has bot evolved at all. But just keep laying off, moving people and customers from team to team, promote your fifth string players and next year wonder why you are still bleeding.

Working for the sales, e-commerce and marketing doesn't require a skill or experience. Just blame it on IT every morning not making the numbers. Replacing the departments with free AI will generate better results. Replacing the departments with a subscription to AI will generate tremendous results. Replacing the AI department with AI will be the best decision for the SLT.
