Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

The HPE Way (still)

This is (still) the HPE Way.
From Glassdoor.

"August of 2014 a Rehire Restriction Policy was put into place that stated any employee who exits the company through any of our "paid" programs such as Phased Retirement, Enhanced Early Retirement, Workforce Reduction (WFR) and similar, are not eligible to be rehired in any capacity (regular employee, Contingent Worker, temporary worker, etc)."

Advice to Management
Don't limit your talent by making ridiculous policies. Talk about insult to injury, you guy's can't manage your money so you lay-off part of your workforce and tell all of them you can never work for us again.

DO the current WFR participants receive paid packages? I thought the word went out (in 2024?) that there were no more paid separation packages.

Cover for their shame. Or, when they cut from the top and blindly lop off good people, they need a policy that prevents the line managers from fixing their mistake. Plus, that way you avoid any awkward elevator encounters. Cut the policy people IMO.

Retirement programs having a do not rehire are pretty common but a WFR plan with automatic do not rehire? That’s just d-mb (but unfortunately not entirely uncommon either).
